Brochure Printing: Facts To Consider For Cost Effective Printing

Cost of brochure printing depends on the choices the designer makes. It can be either very cost effective or too expensive. First, you have to settle on the basic content and photographs of the product or service. Next, discuss with the designer about the design. However, before getting enveloped, take into consideration things like stock, finished size, choice of solid colors, coatings, and number and direction of folds. These can affect the cost in considerable ways. Following facts help you a lot to determine your printing:

  • Don’t use large solid color. Though it is possible, converting any color to its CMYK equivalent for process color printing is not recommended. Brochure will have to be printed in five colors rather than four colors to produce a solid color faithfully.
  • While choosing finish coat, be careful. Decide early, whether you are going to mail out the brochure or not. Because all addressing systems can not print addresses on all types of coating.
  • While considering the stock, keep in mind, for printing brochures, most modern color offset printers offer same price for a wide range of weights of stock. It might be confusing but it happens due to the economics running modern presses. Charging the same price for the stock is cheaper than to change the existing and running stock on the press.
  • Scoring and folding depends on the weight of stock and ink coverage of the specific design. In many weigh of paper stock, folding without scoring may crack the inked surface along the fold line.
  • For having spectacular designs, fancy die is the best option. But it can costly for small bundle. The cost of making the die and the process of die cutting is high and it directly affects the total price of brochure printing.
  • Brochure design that specifies spot UV must be very expensive. It must be printed on a stock that can be UV coated and it also requires extra sets of printing plates.
  • Choose the printing templates at the primary stage or, if possible, before starting the design process. Don’t wait for the last minute to scramble solutions and make layout right.

Now it is time to consider whether you like to have your work done locally or online. It is always better to choose online printer due to following reasons:

  • Offer short-run printing
  • Less expensive
  • Full-color options costs same as single color design
  • Own design
  • Fast turnaround time

Quality printing is a must for a well designed brochure. Many websites offers full color brochure printing on various weights of paper, coatings and sizes.
